Neurovascular assessments-
This assessment is carried out on every new patient to establish the blood flow to the different areas of the foot to identify any peripheral neuropathy
Cracked heels/Fissures
Caused by dry skin that if untreated can cause fissures that can become deeper and down to the dermis layer causing pain and an entry to infection.
Corns, Calluses removal
Callus is caused by friction caused by footwear which causes dry sin which can become uncomfortable, Corns are caused by prolonged pressure on a particular area of the foot, they can become troublesome and painful if left.
Ingrown toenails
Ingrowing toes nails are caused when the nail invades the sulcus (nail bed) which can then cause hypergranulation (skin overgrowth) to occur, the area can become very painful and infected if not treated.
Athlete’s foot
Athletes foot is a common fungal infection caused by damp conditions between toes and damp footwear, it can be very itchy however have no symptoms at all.
Hammer/Claw and Mallet Toes
Hammer/claw or mallet toes are caused when one or more toes are permeant bent forward causing irritation to the toes by footwear, paddings and dressings can help ease this, as well as otoform orthotics which can be made by surrey footcare.
Verruca
Verruca are caused by the common HPV virus that is usually contracted through touch such as in swimming pools or gyms, they can cause pain if on sites of the feet that cause pressure.
Bunions
Bunions are caused by a Boney lump on the side of the foot caused by an irregular deformity of the big toe, this is treated by using dressing, paddings to help ease discomfort as well as otoform orthotics that can be made.

Diabetic foot care
Patients that suffer from Diabetes are more likely to suffer from complications with their feet, slower healing needs to be considered and higher risk of foot ulcers means regular foot checks and education is important to keep the patients feet healthy.
